On May 5, 2019, the Immigration and Refugee Board of Canada (IRB) released the new
Policy on National Documentation Packages in Refugee Determination Proceedings. The intent of this new policy is to provide updated information on how the
IRB uses National Documentation Packages (NDPs) as the standard source of country of origin information (COI) evidence in all refugee claims and appeals.
As of the date of this notice, the following policy instruments are revoked:

Policy on Country-of-Origin Information Packages in Refugee Protection Claims, released on March 2007. The objective of this policy was to ensure that common, nationally issued COI packages were used as the standard country information evidence by the
IRB.

Policy on Document Harmonization in Support of Jurisprudential Guides, released on May 2003. The objective of this policy was to explain the development of harmonized packages in support of decisions identified by the Chairperson, pursuant to s. 159(1)(h) of the
Immigration and Refugee Protection Act, as jurisprudential guides.
The identified policies are revoked as they are outdated policy instruments which were developed under the previous Refugee Protection Division and did not include the Refugee Appeal Division.
